About this Seminar
This seminar will bring teachers into the courtrooms of the United States District Court for the District of Columbia.  In the morning, teachers will focus on how to integrate Supreme Court decisions into the We the People curriculum.  In the afternoon, teachers will participate in ‘The First Amendment and Social Media: Student Rights, Wrongs, and Responsibilities' mock trial with Chief Judge Royce C. Lamberth who serves as United States District Judge for the District of Columbia.

Chief Judge Lamberth regularly presides over courtroom simulations for high school teachers
and students in his D.C. courtroom. In their evaluations, students describe him as "cool beans" and teachers say that he is "approachable, down-to-earth, and surprisingly open."  As the first presiding judge of the United States Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISA), he served during the September 11 attacks in 2001.
His broad range of experience, his forthcoming style, and his friendly demeanor make his educational programs not only content rich but entertaining and memorable.
