Montpelier Weekend Seminar Terms of Acceptance and Cancellation Policy

I.  Applicants who are accepted to attend a Montpelier Weekend Seminar must confirm their attendance by returning two items to the Center for the Constitution:

          1)  A Participant Response Form:  This Form must be completed in full, signed by the Participant,  and returned by the date specified on the Form.
          2)  A check or credit card number authorized for the amount of $50:  this deposit must be returned with the Participant Response Form.  The $50 deposit will reserve the Participant's spot in the Seminar and will be returned to the Participant once s/he completes the Seminar. The Center for the Constitution will not cash the check or charge the credit card unless there is a cancellation of attendance according to terms set forth in this document.

Once an accepted Applicant returns both of these items, s/he will be considered an Enrolled Applicant.  Enrolled Applicants are expected to attend and complete the Seminar; this includes all scheduled program activities such as lectures, breakout groups, tours and other activities.

II.  When an Enrolled Applicant attends and completes the Seminar which s/he promised to attend, the $50 deposit will be returned in the form of returning the Participant's uncashed check or Credit Card Authorization Form at the close of the Seminar.

III.  In the event an Enrolled Applicant cancels his/her registration prior to 30 days before the Seminar start date, the $50 deposit will be returned in the form of the Participant's uncashed check or Credit Card Authorization Form by mail to the home address provided on his/her application.

IV.  In the event an Enrolled Applicant cancels his/her registration for any reason within 30 days of the Seminar start date, the Center for the Constitution will retain the $50 deposit as a Cancellation Fee (the Center will "cash" the check or "charge" the credit card), no portion of which shall be returned to the Applicant.

V.  In the event an Enrolled Applicant wishes to transfer his/her Seminar registration to another Seminar (in the same semester or another semester), and does so prior to 30 days before the original Seminar start date, the $50 deposit will be applied to the new Seminar.

VI.  In the event an Enrolled Applicant wishes to transfer his/her Seminar registration to another Seminar (in the same semester or another semester), and does so within 30 days of the Seminar start date, the Center for the Constitution will retain the $50 deposit as a Cancellation Fee (the Center will "cash" the check or "charge" the credit card), no portion of which shall be returned to the Applicant.  The Applicant will be responsible for another $50 deposit for the Seminar into which s/he wishes to be transferred.

VII.  If an Applicant applies to attend a Seminar within 30 days of the Seminar start date, is accepted, and confirms that s/he will attend (by returning a Participant Response Form and $50 deposit), the Enrolled Applicant will be held to the terms in Section IV above.

VIII.  If an Enrolled Applicant is a "No-Show" (i.e., does not attend a seminar and does not inform the Center in advance), s/he will not be accepted to any future programs sponsored by the Center.
